Better Than Regret: Start Working
A friend of mine told me in 2010 to work on Google — online work — and it was the very same work I finally started in 2020.
Should I regret not doing it back in 2010?
Another friend told me about Bitcoin in 2016: “It’s worth it, buy some.” Should I regret not buying?
But I have no regrets, because my circumstances at the time had me shackled.
What I never did, though, was forget. The friend who told me about Google SEO in 2010 has forgotten he ever said it — but I remember. Even through nine years of a bank job, I kept trying, continuously, to break into the online field.
I started learning computers in 2002. From 2014 onward I kept at it with profiles on Upwork and Fiverr. It wasn’t until 2020 that something finally worked out.
Now, call that 6 years or call it 18 — the point is simply this: only the lottery happens overnight.
Success in work can take a lifetime. So instead of regretting, it’s better to start working.
